Kersti Frigell is the owner and creative director of Swede’Art, Inc. She was born, raised and educated in Sweden. Kersti also attended Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, the Fashion Syndicate’s School in Paris, France. The curriculum included Fashion Illustration, Draping and Design. She free-lanced as a fashion designer in Paris for several years.
Upon arrival in the USA, Kersti started her own fashion company in NYC, with clients like Bergdorf Goodman and upscale boutiques.
A second career was begun in the Edutainment Industry with a concept for children called The Gallavants. The present incarnation of this project is based on the concept co-created by Kersti Frigell and Annie Shaw in 1980’s. The mission of The Gallavants is to help kids connect with nature and to understand that we are part of nature, not separate from it. An animated movie, “The Gallavants” co-produced by Marvel Productions, was created for which Kersti was the Production Designer. The film has been shown on HBO and videos are available for sale in more than 30 countries. A series of 10 Gallavants children’s books sold more than 300,000 copies in Sweden alone. An evolutionary licensing program is part of the Gallavants over-all plan.
A parallel career for this multi faceted artist involves illustrations for both the children’s books market as well as covers and interior illustrations for the regular mass market publishing industry.
Kersti currently lives in Boulder, CO with her husband.
